Heat Index of 105
It's HOT! HOT! HOT!
The temperature has hovered around 97 degrees today with a heat index at 105 degrees. That's hot! Needless to say, we're staying inside and not doing much -- it's a good day to 'veg.'
This photo is of the Tallest/Largest Thermometer in the World and resides at the edge of the Mojave Desert. Today it reads on 86 degrees with a heat index of 88. Go figure, we're warmer than the edge of the desert???
Would we be 'egg'aggerating if we said it must be hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk. At what temperature do you think an egg would fry out there? Culinary information states that the heat needs to be a minimum of 145 degrees to turn the 'liquid' egg to a solid. If the heat stays like this we may have to try it.

There is only one day a year when we eat in the living room -- the day that we put up our Christmas tree. This year, it seems there will be two days.

RAIN: Inside to Watch and Wait
10:30 a.m. The Rain begins...
Drip, drop, drip, drop... "it's raining!" came a shout from the front porch. A mad dash inside insued, but the wait is certainly not over.
The waiting continues at the front door.

Glasses and HP Scar
A favorite neighbor (who understands the creative and literary signficance of this day and of waiting for the UPS truck) stopped over to join the celebration and gave GDG a pair of Harry Potter glasses and a lightning bolt tatoo. Thanks, Mrs. D.
